It’s a funny thing. When writing a near-future fantasy/mythology novel and deciding to incorporate the actual Gregorian Calendar dates in the text, it didn’t fully occur to me that one day those days would come. The day book three in my “G” series, Beyond Big-G City, begins is Friday, June 20, 2025- -one week from today!
Is that a bad thing?
It’s not, 9, but it comes as a bit of a surprise. Like turning 30. Or 40. Or 50.
Or 60.
Thank you, Lily.
I could respond to this mild shock by ignoring it, or denying that it is happening. Instead, I choose to celebrate the chronological events that unroll not only through Beyond but continue through Crisis in Big-G City.
The celebration starts next Friday, on a new drop-down page from the Blog section of this website. Here’s the link:

What will you do on this new page?
My plan is to post a juicy new paragraph that recaps the week-by-week action of the book. I hope people who read it will get caught up in the story and want to know not only all the lurid details, but also What Happens Next!? If they can’t wait to find out, there’s a handy link to procure their own paper or digital copy:

Interesting.
That’s my hope. At some point I may include an occasional quiz with the post, possibly in a contest format, complete with prizes.
Concurrently, the Walla Walla area Small-g City book giveaway will continue for six more weeks at random Little Free Libraries. This leads up to a Small-g City 10th birthday signing at Book & Game on August 16!

Then is Now: “Small-g City” copy five just might appear in a Little Free Library on Tausick Street today. . .
Wow, that’s a lot of book news. What else is happening?
Glad you asked, 9. Remember when we were in the movie at Walla Walla University this March? It’s the senior project of soon-to-graduate producer Sam Grecov Molina. She’s arranged a screening of her movie, Love Between the Lines, at 2 PM today!
Now that’s newsworthy.
Glad you approve, Lily.
Folks who aren’t familiar with Walla Walla may not realize that it’s not only a history, wheat and wine mecca; it’s also home to a thriving arts community. Three colleges, dance studios, community and summer theater, music festivals in all styles and for all tastes. Not to mention the visual arts and ArtWalla’s First Friday arts tour:

And of course a whole flock of writers. . .
