This Week in Beyond Big-G City! It’s mostly about the baby. . .

Week Nineteen, Days Two through Six:

November 8th through 12th, 2025

Zeus, impatient to start the search for at-large malevolent force The Power, begins a tour of Mount Olympus’s dark and sinister places led by Heracles on Friday, November 8. Subterranean sites and an ill-lit bar or two yield nothing. They await the arrival of Artemis, the third member of their security trio.

Monday, November 10, the two-fathered baby P. B. (short for Power Baby), has been discharged from Olympus Rest with his mother, Monique. In care of Hermes, who is totally smitten with his new son, P. B. is now in Monique’s condo, where she is recovering. Pan, half-brother to P. B., watches the baby while Hermes takes a break. The 4-day-old has a voracious appetite and, in spite of having no teeth, has chewed through dozens of silicone nipples. Pan unmistakably receives the telepathic message Burp me! He places the baby on his shoulder. P.B. blows chunks all over the wall, and what dribbles onto Pan’s toga reeks like month-old garbage. Pan’s brain rings with telepathic evil laughter. . .

In Seattle, the seawall that protects the underground commuter tunnel is barely holding. Tuesday, November 11, Clifford determines that old-style structureling support is needed to strengthen the wall and avert disaster. Though he’ll need to clear this strategy with CEO Veronica, the one structureling he’s confident can handle the job comes immediately to mind. . .

Meanwhile, in Mount Olympus, Artemis has arrived. She’s critical of the “search” method conducted by Zeus and Heracles. The Power came out of seclusion for a reason: Monique’s baby. Artemis recommends setting a trap for The Power, with P. B. as bait! The goal: to lure The Power to a place it can never escape. Heracles knows the perfect spot. . .

Persephone, back from harvest, stalls with Mai Tai in hand at Club Dionysus. She does not want to return to the Underworld, especially since her message to Hades about wanting to have a baby went unanswered. Across the room she sees the strange sight of bitter enemies Hera and Aphrodite (in red and hot pink sweat suits, respectively), sharing a companionable glass of wine.

Hera insisted that Aphrodite go to Zumba to shed some of the extreme stress that the birth of P. B. and Monique’s near-death delivery has caused. Post-workout, they share their fears about what might happen to them all with The Power at large. . .

Is P. B. truly the heart of evil or does he just have a bad case of gas? Will The Power fall into the trap? Can Clifford save the Seattle seawall? Will Persephone’s intense longing for a baby ever be fulfilled?

And there’s still one more day to go this very eventful week in “Beyond Big-G City”!
