This world, that world, and the Underworld, July 18-24, 2025
At her Mount Olympus luxury condo the evening of Friday, July 18, Hera is unnerved by Aphrodite’s threats. How much does she really know about what happened in Tiberias two millennia ago? Clearly some of it, yes, but everything? With generous glass of Chardonnay in hand, Hera rationalizes her way to accepting Love, Inc.’s joint venture proposal, just in case. . .
Saturday, July 19, finds David in Tiberias. He settles into a seedy studio condo. Fearing that Herod Antipas is his birth father as he contemplates his sparse research options (while demolishing a burger and Coke ™ ), the idea arrives in a flash: a DNA test could possibly rule out Herod as a candidate! His flat, thank Heaven and Earth, has a strong internet connection. He orders a test kit, express.
Meanwhile, in the Underworld, Hades and Anatole near the Pit of Fire in Tartarus after a two day trudge. Their mission to detect gatecrashers is, so far, fruitless- -no air leaks in this foul, stench-heavy quarter! Monday, July 21 they witness bands of demonic souls surging through the pit’s flames. Cries of “Preston North End!” and “Aston Villa!” roar! Soccer hooligan souls pitch rocks and beat each other with sticks, hurling insults until they sense Hades and Anatole. “Fresh meat!” they cry as one. Our heroes flee!
Back at Olympus, Inc., Hera grits her teeth as she, Aphrodite, Candy and Monique finalize the details and sign the joint venture proposal. As a token of goodwill, Monique presents Hera with a Playtime for Lovers costume gift bag: the Napoleon and Josephine Special. . .
Will Aphrodite, in spite of their business deal, spill the beans on Hera’s secret past? What will David’s DNA test reveal? Can Hades and Anatole outrun the soccer hooligans? And what will become of the Napoleon and Josephine Special?
